Two middle-aged male characters appear, separately from each other, in a purposively unclassifiable room; sitting at a table, each of these two characters carry on long extended dialogues. These two dramatic figures are, in the literal meaning of the word, so called ‘perpetrators’; the film therefore deals decidedly and unequivocally with perpetration. The linguistic content which is presented is based on facts, judicial decisions, historical transcripts of court proceedings, and on facts relating to various events of contemporary history, but also on philosophical theses. Employing the concept of alternative testimony and thereby remaining outside of existing conventional archival strategies, the film attempts on the subtextual level to assert the possibility of a documentary archive of the physical body and memory, thereby validating and establishing another way of interpreting documentary testimony.
