Yamíl Alessander is a young trans man living in Cuba’s Sierra Maestra. A victim of discrimination and non-acceptance, he makes the decision to go deep into the bush and survive in a hostile environment. Cutting down trees to make charcoal and farming, in the midst of loneliness, he sustains a stoic resilience in defence of his choice of gender.
