The project Woman Bites Dog, which participated in the seventh edition of MECAS last weekend in Las Palmas, in the Almost Made Cinema modality, won the SEMILLERU Lab Award for the diffusio of the project. The award consists of the participation of the project in SEMILLERU Lab 2024, which will take place from 18 to 21 November, within the framework of the Gijón International Film Festival and its industry conference FICXPro.
Woman Bites Dog tells the story of a film team that follows a killer of dog abusers in her daily routine. Armand Rovira, the film’s director, is looking for mentoring for the editing of the feature film, as well as meetings with industry professionals to improve and promote the film properly.
SEMILLERU Lab highlights Armand Rovira’s project for its originality, risk, the freshness of its proposal, its humorous, almost Dadaist perspective and its formal quality.
SEMILLERU Lab states: ‘We believe that we can be of great help to you in finalising and completing your promising project’.
The collaboration between SEMILLERU and MECAS is renewed for the third consecutive year, allowing a project selected in SEMILLERU Lab 2024, a laboratory focused on film projects with a strong auteur character that is committed to new looks and ways of making films, to participate in the next edition of MECAS.
With this synergy, both laboratories continue to support new approaches that favour creation and emerging national and international cinema.
